Southland Vineyard Church is committed to missions at all levels.  We believe the mission of the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) is the responsibility of the local church and as such we take responsibility for local, regional and cross cultural missions.  Our mission statement "Taking the kingdom of God to the marketplace" is a statement of our commitment to missions.

Our first priority in missions begins with the local community.  Local missions are often the toughest to undertake and yet when Jesus instructed his disciples regarding missions He was clear in His priorities -

Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Training & Equipping

We train our people to pray for the sick and communicate the good news of the Gospel.  We do this intentionally through programs such as Alpha and through training courses such MC510 "Signs and Wonder and Church Growth", which was developed by Vineyard founder, the late John Wimber.

Outreach Ministries

Southland Compassion is a local missions initiative of Southland Vineyard Church. Our aim is to minister Jesus' love to those in our community who have difficult living conditions. Southland Compassion is funded and staffed by Southland Vineyard Church.

We proudly support City Bible Forum in bringing the Gospel to workers in the CBD of Adelaide.

CROSS CULTURAL MISSIONS: As we go to "Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" we will always have a direct participation and responsibility for support - financially, with human resources and with prayer.

Missionaries

We will be supporting Andy and Mardi Steere and their children Riley & Liam as they move to Kenya in 2011 from Southland Vineyard Church.

 

Ministries/Missions

Southland Vineyard Church supports AECT and the Mae Chan Children's Home in Thailand's Chang Rai province financially and with regular short term missions teams.
